This jersey, authenticated by MeiGray/NBA and photomatched, holds significant value as it marks a milestone in Edwards’ career when he achieved his first career block and scored 12 points. Edwards’ performance was further validated during the 2024 playoffs when he carved his name in history alongside legends like Kobe Bryant by scoring over 40 points consecutively in postseason games.
Another prized item that garnered attention was an Anthony Edwards 2020-21 Panini National Treasures Rookie Patch Autograph card, graded BGS GEM MINT 9.5 with a Beckett 10 for autographs, fetching an impressive $85,550 at the auction.
Victor Wembanyama, another rising star in the basketball world, also saw a surge in interest in his memorabilia, particularly his rookie cards. A 2023-24 Panini Prizm Green Shimmer First Off The Line rookie card, graded PSA 10 and numbered 1 of 5, fetched a notable $113,460. Additionally, a rare Gold Shimmer rookie card numbered 7/10 ended at a respectable $49,410.
The auction wasn’t solely focused on modern basketball phenoms, as demonstrated by the sale of a 1996-97 Kobe Bryant Topps Chrome Refractor rookie card which achieved an impressive $92,720. Furthermore, a 2018 Panini Prizm World Cup Gold Power Prizm Kylian Mbappe rookie card, graded BGS MINT 9, garnered significant interest, selling for $92,190.
Not to be outdone, former Duke star Cherokee Parks’ NCAA Championship ring fetched an impressive $44,320, showcasing the enduring appeal of collectibles related to college basketball stars.
Photographs capturing pivotal moments in the careers of basketball legends Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar were also hot items at the auction, selling for $15,982 and $14,640 respectively.
