Collectors and dealers can rejoice as CGC Cards™ and James Spence Authentication® (JSA®) join forces to provide a smooth and integrated process for submitting autographed cards for authentication and grading. This exciting partnership covers a wide range of cards, including trading card games (TCGs), sports cards, and non-sports cards.

In anticipation of the National Sports Card Convention from July 24-28, the Certified Collectibles Group® (CCG®) has announced the launch of the combined service by CGC Cards and JSA starting from July 15, 2024. This innovative collaboration enables collectors to get their autographed cards authenticated by JSA and graded and encapsulated by CGC Cards in one streamlined procedure.

Building on the success of the CGC x JSA certification for comics introduced in May, the CCG has recently acquired JSA to expand its autograph authentication services. Future plans include offering combined authentication and grading services for magazines, pulps, and concert posters, in addition to the current card services.

Coinciding with the biggest card collecting event of the year, CGC x JSA certification services for cards will be available at The National. Apart from accepting submissions at the event and through mail, CGC Cards will provide comprehensive on-site services, allowing collectors and dealers to have their cards authenticated, graded, and encapsulated instantly.

With the forthcoming launch of CGC Signature Series for cards, autograph collectors will have access to a complete suite of services from CGC and JSA. CGC, known for pioneering witnessed signature authentication with its Signature Series for comics in 2001, aims to deliver a seamless experience for autograph enthusiasts in the card collecting realm.

Established in 2005 by James Spence, Jr., JSA is renowned for its premier autograph authentication services. Leveraging the world's largest autograph database with nearly 1 million images, JSA employs cutting-edge technology to ensure precise authentication of autographs.

Autographed cards bearing the CGC x JSA Authentic Autograph label will exhibit both brand names and a distinctive "Authentic Autograph" designation in yellow, a color synonymous with genuine signatures in CGC's history. Upon request, cards can also undergo autograph grading, with the grade prominently displayed on the label alongside the card’s overall grade and description. Furthermore, cards encapsulated with the CGC x JSA Authentic Autograph label will come with detailed CGC Cards Grader Notes, offering comprehensive information about the signers.

For premium cards, CGC Cards provides the prestigious gold CGC x JSA Pristine 10 label, exclusively reserved for cards achieving a perfect CGC Pristine 10 grade.

Steven R. Eichenbaum, CEO of CCG, emphasized the significance of this partnership, calling it a highlight of 2024 for CCG. James J. Spence, Jr., President of JSA, expressed his excitement about launching combined services for cards at The National, fulfilling a request from collectors over the past two decades.

To learn more about submitting cards for CGC x JSA certification, collectors can visit the CGC Cards website. Submissions can be made through the online submission form, where collectors can select "JSA Autograph Authentication" after choosing their grading tier. Pricing for JSA autograph authentication is based on the selected grading tier, with additional CGC Cards grading fees applicable.

CGC and JSA are dedicated to providing collectors with top-notch services, ensuring that each submission is handled with expertise and care. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the collectibles industry, promising to elevate the collecting experience for enthusiasts across the globe.
